The Oxfordshire - 11th April 2024
Back at the Oxfordshire Golf Club, a mild yet windy Thursday marked the start of April with 182 golfers teeing off on the challenging 6300-yard par 72 course designed by Rees Jones.
Initially, tough conditions greeted the players, with only a handful managing to make the turn under par. However, as the day progressed, scores began to improve as players found their rhythm.
A rare appearance of the sun on the back nine provided some relief, although the prevailing wind posed a constant challenge, particularly on the formidable closing holes. The index 1 16th, the lengthy 600-yard par 5 17th, and the uphill 18th demanded full concentration from every golfer.
Adding a touch of flair to the day, Gary and Mike from Chiltern Forest GC stood out as the best-dressed golfers, sporting some eye-catching, patterned jumpers.
