Sam is a very keen amateur golfer and has a real passion for the game and is focused mostly on the golfing side of the business.
2013
Golf Pairs was born.
We created the Golf Pairs Tour in 2013 because we felt that there were many people who would be interested in being part of a travelling club who play at friendly competitive golf days at some of the top courses in the UK for great rates.
2014 - 2015
We ran our first successful events!
We thought that a pairs tour taking in a number of geographically co-located ‘top 100′ golf courses would be the best option, and we started by learning the ropes in 2014 – running 2 successful events followed in 2015 with 3 events.
2016
We signed our first sponsor.
Mizuno signed up as our title and exclusive golf sponsor to help us take GPT to the next level – which for us is to become the top pairs tour in the UK and then the world.
2017
We introduced multi day tours.
Taking customer feedback on board we arranged three multi day events and four single days in total giving more people an opportunity to play. We have also teamed up with Marriott Hotels and Macdonald Hotels to run 15 days of qualifiers all round the country, with La Manga in October our first non UK event.
2018
Lift off!
We saw even more growth, with 3 multi day and 14 single days at amazing venues such as Royal St Georges, Royal Lytham and Gleneagles.
2019 - 2021 & Beyond.
Watch this space.
Introducing the matchplay concept with a hugely successful winter competition and a summer matchplay only mildly interrupted by COVID-19. The future involves growing further, even more overseas events, a new improved bigger better qualifying series, more matchplays and looking outside the UK!
