St Anne's Old Links 2025
St Annes Old Links did not disappoint again. What an absolute beauty!!
198 golfers enjoyed this lovely course in beautiful clear skys with a light wind that was to get a little heavier as the day went on.
All golfers started with a bacon roll and a cuppa at registration and were looking forward to the bar opening…
Great Starters provided by the Club enhanced the experience as we learnt a new rule about hole 1 and 6 that has a small strip of grass between the 2 geens….So, Rule 31f comes into play and allows you to drop no nearer the hole if you landed on the 6th Green behind the 1st green with no penalty but if you played the shot from the 6th green to the 1st green then you would incur a 2 shot penalty!!!! Golfers beware next year. -
With the rough at a nice comfortable length this year due to the dry weather allowing the greens staff to keep on top of it, the golfers enjoyed a fabulous experience.
A great experience for one of the early starters. Congratulations to Richard Houghton who recorded a Hole In 1 on the 3rd Hole at 154 yards. Didn’t see it go in and was searching in the run off which was deep rough when one of his playing partners suggested he check out the hole for a laugh……………Boom!!! There it was

The catering staff supplied some lovely home cooked food all day with the Sausage, Egg and Chips being a popular choice.
