Portal Scramble 2025

Championship Course at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa, nestled near Tarporley in Cheshire.Designer & Launch: Designed by renowned architect Donald Steel and opened in 1990. It earned the Golf Course of the Year award in 1995. An 18-hole, Par‑73 course stretching over 7,000 yards from the back tees. The Signature hole is the 14th, the shortest hole on the course at just 136 yards, but surrounded by water and trees, a straight shot is a must.

Weather Conditions:

As the song goes, 'Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot' From the first tee time through to about 6pm it was hot and humid, it's a good job the course had a drinks buggy going around for the majority of the day.

Tournament Highlights:

With this being a Texas scramble, the fairways were running for miles and the green were receptive, this all made it perfect conditions to shoot some great scores. The winning group not only shot -22.8 net, but also were -14 gross, this helped with 12 birdies and an eagle 2 on the 2nd hole.
