Hawkstone Park 2025

What a day it has been at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire! Nestled in a Grade 1 heritage landscape, the estate features two stunning golf courses, making it the perfect location for today’s event. We had a fantastic turnout with 152 playerscompeting on the Championship Course, and it’s safe to say the event was a huge success.

The Course: A Beautiful Setting for Golf

The Championship Course at Hawkstone Park never disappoints, offering a challenging layout set against the backdrop of beautiful Shropshire countryside. From the moment players teed off, the stunning views and pristine conditions set the stage for a memorable round of golf.

Weather: From Clear Skies to Challenging Winds

The day started with clear skies and some beautiful sunshine after the morning mist cleared. Conditions were perfect for the early starters, but as the day progressed, the wind picked up and the clouds rolled in, making for more challenging conditions for the later players. As always, this added a bit of extra excitement to the tournament, with golfers having to adapt to the changing weather.

Memorable Moments:

A huge shoutout to Scottish John, our best-dressed golfer of the day! Sporting his country’s colours in fine tartan style, he certainly couldn’t be missed on the course. His outfit was as bold as his game, and he made a real statement both on and off the fairway.

The Nearest the Pin competition took place on the 9th hole, a stunning downhill par 3 with a large lake guarding the right side of the green. This hole always provides a test of precision, and today’s winner, Nic Davenport, put in a fantastic shot to land it within 18 inches of the pin. What a great shot, Nic!

Longest Drive Competition:

The 18th hole was the site for our Longest Drive competition, and there was some hot competition to take the title. For the ladies, Joanne Beattie hit a wonderful tee shot down the right side of the fairway, leaving her with a great chance at the prize. On the men’s side, Oliver Taylor absolutely smashed it, hitting a monster drive on the uphill finishing hole. His shot was truly impressive!

What’s Next?

We’re already looking ahead to our next event, which kicks off tomorrow at The Belfry for a 3-day event. Who’s excited? We know we are! It’s going to be another fantastic event at one of the UK’s most iconic golf courses, and we can’t wait to see the competition unfold.

And for those who can’t get enough of Shropshire, don’t worry—we’re back on Thursday for a double bubble event at The Astbury. It’s going to be another amazing day of golf!
