Calcot Park - 30th September
A dark arrival at 6.30am and lots of rain overnight, changed for the golfers arrival from 7.30am and the rain held off, phew! A very relaxed clubhouse and a variety of practice facilities were on offer but unfortunately a little bit chilly for the outside patio. We had a wonderful pair of golfers called the "The Melon Ballers" who sweetened up our day with their matching tee shirts, socks...and we stopped there! Calcot Park Golf Club was established in 1930, designed by the renowned golf course architect Harry Colt, known for his exceptional work on some of the world's finest courses. The club's origins can be traced back to Calcot Park, a historic estate dating back to the 17th century, which once belonged to the Blagrave family. The parkland course was created on the grounds of the estate, taking advantage of the natural landscape and incorporating many of the estate's features into the design. Over the years, Calcot Park has hosted numerous prestigious events and tournaments, attracting golfers from far and wide. The club has a rich tradition of golfing excellence and is known for its strong sense of camaraderie and community spirit
