Lions, stags and various other wooden animals are dotted around the Harleyford Course and Estate and are a lovely feature as you walk or play around the course. Home to Ryder Cup star Tyrell Hatton and lots of photos from his various achievements line the Clubhouse walls. The weather definitely turned very Autumnal during the day and was not kind to the golfers at all, waterproofs were definitely needed. But... "The Melon Ballers" turned up again and all brought a smile to our faces with their wonderful golfing attire.Harleyford Golf Club traces its roots back to the 12th century when the estate was originally owned by the Knights Templar. Over the centuries, the estate changed hands several times until it was acquired by the 18th-century philanthropist Sir William Clayton, who built the original mansion house on the grounds. In the late 20th century, the estate was transformed into a prestigious golf club, with the renowned golf course architect Donald Steel commissioned to design the layout. The Harleyford Golf Club officially opened its doors in 1996, offering golfers a world-class golfing experience amidst the stunning Buckinghamshire countryside. Since its inception, the club has hosted numerous professional and amateur tournaments, attracting golfers from far and wide. Today, Harleyford Golf Club continues to uphold its legacy of excellence, providing members and visitors with exceptional golfing facilities, first-class hospitality, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
