Wind Rules the Day at Brett Vale – MGPT Event Recap
The latest MGPT event at Brett Vale Golf Club was one for the books — not for perfect conditions, but for the fierce wind that swept across the course, testing every player’s patience, skill, and club selection. Gusts rolled in from the first tee to the 18th green, making it a true challenge just to keep the ball on line, let alone score well.
But as always, MGPT golfers rose to the occasion. With focus, grit, and a little creativity, some outstanding performances emerged across all three brackets, along with a few standout individual efforts.

Adam’s drive on the 10th cut through the wind and sailed well beyond the competition. -
Ladies’ Longest Drive (10th) – Yvonne Hollis (£25 MGPT Voucher)
Adding to her podium finish, Yvonne crushed a drive to take home the ladies’ LD title as well. -
Nearest the Pin (5th) – Greg S Burgess (£25 MGPT Voucher)
Greg’s tee shot was pinpoint accurate on the par-3 5th — no easy feat in a strong wind
The wind may have dominated the conditions, but it didn’t stop the fun, competition, or camaraderie. Huge congratulations to all of our prize winners, and a big thank you to everyone who braved the elements and took part. Brett Vale never disappoints — even when Mother Nature adds an extra layer of challenge.
