Yorkshire 5 Days 2025

Yorkshire Golf Week 2025

The 2025 Yorkshire Golf Week was nothing short of spectacular—five days of
sunshine, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments across some of the
region’s most iconic courses. From the hilly challenges of Moor Allerton to the
historic fairways of Ganton, this event was a true celebration of golf, community, and
charity.

Day 1: Moor Allerton Golf Club – A Picturesque Start

Our week kicked off at Moor Allerton Golf Club, a hilly yet picturesque course that set
the tone for the days ahead. Nearly 200 golfers joined us, with the 17th hole serving
as the charity hole—a tricky 141-yard par 3 into the wind. There were certainly some
shots to remember and some to definitely forget for some! Jon Barrett and Murray
Stinton emerged as the days winners with an impressive 48 points.

Day 2: Moortown Golf Club – A Hotter Challenge

Day 2 brought us to Moortown Golf Club, where the heat was on both the course and
the competitors. Nearest the pin winners included Chris Bentley, Jonathan Narduzzo,
Ben Redstone, and Ned Shanklyn, with Dave Martin taking the longest drive on the
18th hole. Mark Handsford & Ned Shanklyn clinched the days victory with 47 points.

Day 3: Fulford Golf Club – A Colourful Display

At Fulford Golf Club, the welcome we received was amazing, with club chairman
Alan greeting everyone with banter and warmth. Andrew Green turned up in one of
his colourful and wacky golf outfits, adding to the days fun.

Nearest the pin winners were Tom Kaye, Mike Clarke, Gavin Aris, and Saen Kinsella Jr.

Harry Hardcastle and Anne Marie Warham took the men and women's longest drives, respectively.

Steven Carruthers & Alistair Wilson won the day with 46 points on countback from
Jon Barrett & Murray Stinton, who were leading the overall leaderboard.

Day 4: Alwoodley Golf Club – The Hottest Yet

Day 4 saw us at Alwoodley Golf Club, the hottest day of the week so far. The course
was in fantastic condition, with fast-rolling greens. Andrew Green didn't disappoint
again with his choice of outfit! Jack Thompson & George Griffiths came runners-up
with 44 points, and the winners were David Holyoak & Ben Redstone with 45 points.

Husband and wife teams Neil & Jean Dalton and Robert & Lesley Robbins continued to put up a good fight throughout the week. We also had a fantastic Hole-in-One on
our Charity Hole which could have won him upto £10,000 in prizes…. If only he paid
his £10 to join the competition (His words not mine…lol)

Day 5: Ganton Golf Club – A Grand Finale

The final day took us to Ganton Golf Club, where the competition was fierce. Jon & Murray led with a 13-point advantage, but the rest of the field was eager to catch up.
Susan & Andrea Alexander, the lady pairing, played some amazing golf, albeit with a
lot of bunker play, which to be fair the whole field today suffered in the very deep
bunkers! They finished with an impressive 43 points. Matt Painter & Aiden McClure
won the day with a fantastic 46 points.

Final Standings

The overall winners of the week were Jon Barrett & Murray Stinton, followed closely
by runners-up Andrew Green & Wayne Porter.
