Braving the Elements: Golf Day at Welwyn Garden City Golf Club

The wind howled, the temperatures dipped, but the competition was red-hot at Welwyn Garden City Golf Club.

On a blustery and cold day that tested the mettle of even the hardiest golfers, participants in the latest MGPT event battled through challenging conditions with grit, good humour, and no shortage of competitive spirit. The weather may not have played ball, but that didn’t stop some outstanding performances across the board.

Winners & Prize Highlights

Despite the tough conditions, scoring remained impressively competitive. Leading the field and claiming 1st place – along with a £150 MGPT Voucher – were Tom Leagas and Iain Warren, whose teamwork and consistency saw them rise above the rest.

Close behind in 2nd place, winning a £125 MGPT Voucher, were Andy Clare and Richard Conby, followed by Jonathan Randall and Philip Jarratt in 3rd, earning a £100 voucher for their efforts.

Other top placings:

4-Hole Competition

The ever-popular 4-hole comp saw Chris Baylis and Robbie Simpson take 1st place (£100 MGPT Voucher), with Kevin Ronan and Scott Bebbcoming in 2nd (£50 Voucher) – a strong day for Ronan and Bebb all around!

Additionally, Baylis and Simpson walked away with the Golfshake Prize (£50 Voucher), rounding off a superb day for the pair.

A Day to Remember (or Forget the Cold!)

Though the chill and wind were a constant companion, the spirit of the day was never in doubt. Laughter, camaraderie, and the usual share of “what-could-have-beens” made this yet another memorable event in the MGPT calendar. A massive thank you to all the players for turning up and making it a great occasion, and to Welwyn Garden City Golf Club for hosting us in such classic British golfing weather.
