Turnberry 2 Day 24/25 March
South Ayrshire welcomed the Golf Pairs Tour as Trump Turnberry played host to 114 eager competitors, all aspiring to bask in the glory of this renowned Open Championship venue. Day one presented our golfers with the challenge of the King Robert The Bruce course. Designed by Martin Ebert, this course stands as a splendid testament to true links golf, neighboring the famed Ailsa course (the venue for day 2), which witnessed the legendary 1977 'Duel in the Sun' between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson. Our golfers engaged in their own 'duel in the sun' on the King Robert The Bruce course on Sunday. Regrettably, Monday brought heavy rain, leading to the unfortunate cancellation of day 2.
Titanic Tussle at Turnberry: Sunday's splendid weather conditions sparked an epic battle atop the WHS leaderboard, with 11 teams finishing within 5 points of the lead. Securing the top spot were Simon Chester and Lee Cameron, harmonizing beautifully to finish with 45 points, edging out Tim Sherry and Mark Cleminson, as well as Toby Swinney and Ian Pessol, who both finished with 44 points.
