The Drift 2025

Tucked away in the heart of the Surrey countryside, The Drift Golf Club is a gem of parkland golf—tree-lined, beautifully manicured, and deceptively challenging. While it may not boast the windswept dunes of a coastal links, The Drift more than holds its own with tight driving corridors, subtle elevation changes, and slick, contoured greens that reward patience and precise shot-making.
On a stunning late September day—sun-drenched fairways, a light breeze, and temperatures hovering in the low 20s—players were treated to near-perfect golfing conditions. It was the kind of day where excuses were few, and birdie chances plentiful… at least for those who kept it straight off the tee.
Highlight holes include short par fours on the 4th and 6th, along with the shortest of the par threes at the 140-yard 16th. A three hole 50th Anniversary project was completed in the summer of 2025, creating a signature 9th hole with a shot over water to a sleeper-lined green, adding 40 yards to a par and converting a short par 4 into a picturesque par 3.
The course was playing softer after recent rain meaning the short game was tested throughout. Subtle breaks and quick greens saw several confident putts slip by, adding drama to the closing stretch. Still, the conditions allowed for great scoring, and the leaderboard reflected the quality on display.
