St Mellion 2 Days 2025

A Memorable 2 Days of Golf at St Mellion

What a spectacular couple of days we had at the St Mellion Golf Club, with two action-packed rounds that showcased some of the best golf talent and camaraderie in the game. Nestled in the beautiful Cornish countryside, St Mellion's famed **Nicklaus Signature Course** offered a perfect backdrop for our event.

Day 1: A Warm Welcome to St Mellion

From the moment players drove through the stunning St Mellion Estate and approached the hotel, excitement was in the air. The course itself was in impeccable condition, earning rave reviews from all who played. The Nicklaus Signature Course, which opened in 1988, is regarded as one of the finest golf courses in Europe, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, this course combines breathtaking views with challenging play, making it a true test of skill for golfers of all levels.

Weather conditions for Day 1 were ideal—hot with hardly any wind. The expected round time was 5 hours, but groups were coming in at around 5.15 hours showing just how well-paced the play was. The sunny skies and dry conditions made for perfect golf weather, allowing players to fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Memorable Moments & Golfers

As usual, the fashion on the course did not disappoint, with many players brightening up the fairways with vibrant outfits. It was wonderful to see so many golfers getting into the spirit of the event and enjoying the day with a smile.

Day 1 Winners:

Winning Pair: Sean Graham + Peter Maher – Their skill and teamwork shone through to claim the top spot!

Runner Up: Jon Turfrey + Nick Arundell – A strong finish, but just short of the victory.
Nearest the Pin (11th): Will Tunnacliffe – A precise shot that earned him this well-deserved prize.

Day 2: The Heat is On!

Day 2 brought even hotter weather, with near-perfect conditions for another round of competitive golf. The hot temperatures continued, and the lack of wind made it a challenge for golfers to manage their shots and adjust to the warmth. But despite the sweltering conditions, the pace of play remained steady, and the course continued to impress all players.

Day 2 Winners:

Winning Pair: Noel Whittingham + Benjamin James – A fantastic performance to take the lead on Day 2!

Great 2days at st mellion. 2nd day too many people on the course. Looking for balls. Waited far too long on the tees. Got a hole in one and got nothing for it e
Except £110 bar bill. Try for a 2 next time at least you get something for that.
