A Stunning Day at Ross on Wye Golf Club
What a fantastic day we had at Ross on Wye Golf Club, set in the heart of the beautiful Wye Valley. With 183 players taking to the fairways, the course was alive with friendly competition, incredible golf, and, of course, some stunning shots.
The Course & Conditions
The weather couldn’t have been better for this event—sunny skies and pleasant temperatures made for a perfect day on the greens. Ross on Wye, known for its breathtaking scenery and challenging layout, truly tested the skills of every player, offering a unique blend of beauty and difficulty that kept everyone on their toes.
Tournament Highlights
The day’s winners, Richard Higgs and Christopher Nutt, scored a remarkable 47 points, securing the top spot with impressive teamwork and skill. They edged out Vincent Johns and Lee Hazell, who finished as runners-up.
Best Gross Score of the day went to Paul Nicholas and Anthony Hughes, with an excellent 37 points, showcasing some solid play on a challenging course.
Special Prizes & Moments
There were plenty of standout moments throughout the day, making this event one to remember:
Men's Longest Drive (Hole 17): Chris Agland powered a monster tee shot up the hill, claiming the long-drive prize.
Women's Longest Drive: Michelle Young followed suit with an impressive drive, claiming the women’s long-drive prize.
Nearest the Pin (Hole 12): Richard Pope displayed incredible precision with his approach, almost hitting the flagstick.
In addition to these impressive performances, five twos were recorded during the day—proving that the players were not only in good spirits but in top form too!
