Monk’s Island, Machynys
The Monk’s Island Course at Machynys is a modern links championship layout designed by Jack Nicklaus. Opened in 2005, this 7,121-yard course has already hosted an impressive 16 championships, including four Royal & Ancient Championships and four Ryder Cup Wales LET Championships of Europe. Notably, Monk’s Island is the youngest course ever to be awarded an R&A Championship.
The course caters for all abilities, with up to five teeing areas per hole. High handicappers can enjoy a fun and strategic round, while low handicappers from the back tees are presented with a true test of golf. Its challenging layout, combined with stunning views, makes it a highlight of any golfing calendar.
Weather Conditions: Thankfully, we stayed dry for most of the day, giving players the perfect conditions to enjoy the course.
