Horsley Lodge - Monday 18th April

Today we were greeted by bright blue sky and a chilly wind at the dawn of our singles event at Horsley Lodge. It’s a top favourite of mine being from south Derbyshire and holds good memories here so it was sure to be a good day from the off.

We had a field of 126 fabulous golfers who were keen to put in a good score. We had some cracking scores from a very varied field. The lowest handicapper being off +1. The division in which our singles event run ensures that everyone has a fair chance and also competing against very similar handicaps.

Our top player who cleaned up was Alex Curran, who stole the show with a best gross of +1, division 1 winner, longest drive and also nearest the pin.

A notable outfit was also on show, Chris Lennox… you never disappoint with your attire. We can see you from fairways away.

A massive shout out to all staff at Horsley Lodge, Anthony Haste head professional and his team were all exceptional in accommodating us all. Also to the bar staff and owner Malcolm Salt your hospitality is second to none. And we thank you!
