Hallamshire Autumn 2025
Nestled between the vibrant city of Sheffield and the rolling landscapes of the Peak District National Park, Hallamshire Golf Club is a classic Harry Colt-designed 18-hole heathland layout. Blessed with spectacular views, the course provides a true test for golfers of all abilities.
The day dawned clear, with stunning views over the Peaks and just a few early-morning woolly hats spotted on the tee. The fairways and greens proved tricky, and the challenging design meant that scoring was at a premium. In fact, only one four-ball group managed to see both pairs break into the 40s—no small feat on such a testing layout! That group, teeing off at 1:50pm, featured the Derbyshire brothers alongside Rhys and Harry, who put together some impressive scores.
Despite the challenge, there were some standout performances:
Tournament Highlights:
-
Winning Pair: Robert Kennedy & Andy Miller – 43 points
-
Runner-Up Pair: Rhys Williams & Harry Elliot – 42 points
-
Nearest the Pin (17th – the famous Quarry Hole): Ray Daniels – just 1ft from the pin!
-
Men: 134 yards | Ladies: 123 yards
-
-
Longest Drive (18th): Devon Ainscow (Men) | Jacqueline Terry (Ladies)
The course tested every shot, and the lightning-fast greens caught out plenty of players, making this a day to remember for both the challenge and the scenery.
Tomorrow, the tour moves a little further north for a singles event at Fulford Golf Club in York, where new challenges and memories await.
