Aberdeen 4 Day - 9th-12th October 2024

Day 1 - Royal Aberdeen

Golfpairs Tour’s final Scottish event of the season took the tour to the north-east of Scotland for a 4-day event around the ‘Granite City’. Venue for day 1 was the renowned Royal Aberdeen Golf Club. Designed by Archie and Robert Simpson and later lengthened and re-bunkered by James Braid this beautiful venue has hosted the Seniors Open Championship, Scottish Open and the 2011 Walker Cup so our golfers were following in some illustrious footsteps. The Scottish weather did not play ball on day 1 with rain and very strong winds making scoring difficult especially on the front nine playing into the teeth of the gale.

Day 2 - Murcar Golf Links

Immediately north of Royal Aberdeen lies the equally brilliant Murcar Golf Links. This was the venue for our golfers on Thursday. A European Tour and Tartan Tour venue, Murcar proved to be a test equally as difficult as Wednesday’s venue. A few showers today but mercifully the wind had dropped a little. Murcar’s tight fairways and unforgiving rough meaning this was a day for the straight hitters!
