Wales 3 Day - Day 2 Royal St David's - 27th April
We were at Royal St Davids golf club today.
Established in 1894, the Harlech links provides a tremendous test of seaside golf in a matchless setting, with Harlech Castle standing sentinel above the course and the Snowdonia mountain range providing a breathtaking backdrop.
Princes, Prime Ministers and poets have all played golf at Harlech, as have some of the greatest names in the history of the game: no fewer than five Open Champions and five Amateur Champions can be identified on the various Honours’ Boards in the historic and homely clubhouse.
Every year thousands of visiting golfers of both sexes make their way to Harlech to follow in the footsteps of these champions, and to enjoy the very special and very friendly atmosphere of the Royal St David’s club.
The day started cloudy and chilly. It quickly changed into a hazy sun and low heat!! The players loved it!!
Players reasons for playing today:
– “A championship-level links that is still very playable”
– “The wonderful par-3 18th with its elevated green and surrounding bunkers”
– “The gorgeous views”
Shot of the day has to be Tracey Klek who scooped a perfect sand wedge out of a deep bunker down 15.
James Blyth who hit a smashing shot on 14 to make a birdie!!
Shoutout to Nicola Lockley who won Longest drive for Ladies on the 12 th hole with a whopping shot down the middle!
Best Dressed goes to Stuart Hill dressed in his usual neon colours👏🏼
