The Grove - Monday 29th August
Yesterday's action took us to the very smart Golf at The Grove located in Watford Hertfordshire,
When you think of the Grove we can all probably remember Tiger’s 2006 WGC Victory where he blew away the field to win by 8 shots.
The lush green fairways were a welcome sight to many golfers. I think everyone will agree with me when I say the course was in superb condition. The ball was not running as far as others may have been used to of late causing the course to play rather long, this matched with the tricky paced greens became a real test especially for the golfers who teed off after the sun had dried the remaining moisture from the greens.
Today's best dressed golfers were Dave Houchin and David Mills who were rather easy to spot in their bright orange matching polo shirts.
A monstrous 2’s pot of of £700 was fought over by our field of almost 200 golfers, with 18 2’s in total each one was worth almost £39, not a bad investment from a fiver!
Claire Guest was taking no prisoners with two 2’s on the front 9 with the ever consistent Gareth Thompson matching her tally to take home £78 each.
Lastly the wonderful staff at The Grove made each of our golfers feel welcome with a personalized bag tag to remember a cracking day out in Hertfordshire!
