Southwick Park - Tuesday 28th June

Mizuno singles series headed to the beautiful South Hampshire countryside to Southwick Park Golf Club situated on Southwick Lake. The narrow yet undulating 6000 yard par 69 had small greens protected by well placed bunkers, strong winds in the afternoon meant this would be a real test for our field of 56 golfers.
One thing to notice at Southwick Park was how friendly and helpful all the staff were, especially Neil Grist the Head Professional and General Manager who helped ensure the day ran without a hitch. It was great to see so many Southwick Greenkeepers playing, the course condition was testament to their hard work and preparation for our event with slick true greens and the course generally presented to an excellent standard.

Thanks for doing this – the course was tight, challenging in the wind and with great greens. Although I did not play particularly well, I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next one – was a great way to play a new course.

I played in the last group and Jamie Reid didn’t get nearest the pin on 17. #markersinamuddle

To be honest, having viewed previous events on your/Mizuno web sites showing lots of pictures of banners and flags at the events, and reading about how they were professionally run days, I was very disappointed to see the only Mizuno presence were two administrators sat in the clubhouse checking everyone in on a laptop.
It made the day just an expensive way of playing our own course.
Not the experience that I, and others I spoke with were expecting.
