Saffron Walden - 20th May 2024
One hundred and seventy enthusiastic golfers took on the challenging Saffron Walden Golf Club, which was in fantastic condition. The quick greens left many struggling to score, with three-putts being a common occurrence! The glorious weather and excellent facilities received rave reviews from everyone.
Saffron Walden Golf Club, established in September 1919, conjures up evocative images with its Windmill Hill address. Located in north Essex, it is a short walk from the market town that changed its name in the 17th century from Chipping Walden to Saffron Walden after discovering wealth from saffron extraction. Although situated in Essex, the club is affiliated with the Cambridgeshire Area Golf Union and is included in Cambridgeshire’s Best In County rankings.
