Royal Porthcawl - Tuesday 2nd August

On Tuesday we was welcomed back to the stunning Royal Porthcawl Golf club
The course has a magnificent setting sloping down to the seashore. The absence of sand hills usually found on links courses enables the golfer to see the sea from every hole and to enjoy memorable views south to Somerset and Exmoor, and northwest across Swansea Bay to the Gower Peninsula.
With holes facing into every point of the compass, the player is always tested by the wind and will probably need every club in the bag.
We definitely wasn’t blessed with the weather with strong winds and rain through out the day which resulted with a tie for first place on 45 points. Congratulations to the winners on count back Lindsay Harris and Simon Butcher and commiserations to Neil Griffiths and Sam Mears.

45 points was a great score in that weather an no Neil, you cannot win the ladies longest drive
