A Fantastic Day on the Course
What a day it has been at Lincoln Golf Club, as we wrapped up another incredible Golf Pairs event! From the moment our first groups teed off to the final putt on the 18th, we saw some truly outstanding golf, great camaraderie, and plenty of memorable moments.
The Lincoln Golf Club provided a brilliant test of golf to our competitors today. It was great to see some green and lush fairways, only courses with fairway irrigation systems will be enjoying currently. Set as the hottest day recorded this year thus far, conditions were not for the faint hearted. The early starters probably had it easier, pays to be the early bird sometimes even in golf! The course although generous fairways, did punish golfers for wayward shots, lost balls were plenty and the blobs racked up nicely! The greens were pure and rolled superb, we witnessed many a 10-footer holed today, for birdie or for triple bogey, who knows!
Tournament Highlights
- Winning Pair: Congratulations to Father and Son pairing Adrian and Leo De Vito who took home the top spot with an impressive 47pts.. A powerful partnership of 14 and 2 hcp, shows that the low guys can still win with the right partner!
- Runner-Up: A great effort from Phil Hewitt and Rick Eklund, who finished just 2 points behind with 45pts pipping another 2 pairs with a BB6 score
- Nearest the Pin: Simon Richardson showed pinpoint accuracy on the 17th hole, with a beauty that was 6 foot to the right of a very difficult pin which played hard to get close to today.
- Longest Drive: A couple of beautiful drives down the tight 10th hole today from Mark Williams and Rebecca Wass setting themselves up for a perfect approach shot.
The Course & The Atmosphere
We couldn’t have asked for a better venue than Lincoln Golf Club , who welcomed our golfers with open arms and even provided a sort of open feel to the first tee with the tee boards and clock, what a great experience for the guests.
A huge thank you to Lincon Golf Club and their staff for their hospitality and seamless organisation, making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
