St Mellion - Wednesday 28th September
Today we were at St Mellion on the Nicklaus Course.
The golf course is simply stunning, with breath-taking views across the countryside and gives a real sense of tranquillity.
The Nicklaus Signature Golf Course opened for play in 1988 and is amongst the finest golf courses in Europe and certainly one of the most famous.
The course was also the first European course personally designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course opened to rave reviews with Nicklaus himself being quoted saying ' I knew it was going to be
good but not this good ' It was certainly good enough to host the B & H International Open with Olazabal, Langer and Ballesteros amongst the winners.
The course has 18 outstanding holes and measures just over 6,200 yards so even for the higher handicapper or shorter hitter is a pleasure to play.
Nicklaus even created his own version of Amen Corner with the 10th, 11th & 12th holes a real highlight of an extra-ordinary golf course.
Being one of the most popular bucket list golf courses in the UK, with several unique water hazards, cleverly-placed bunkers, and it even has it's very own Amen Corner.
The course although not long at only 6,284 has 18 amazing golf holes, you will be able to
follow in the footsteps of some of golf's true legends who have graced our fairways (and rough) which will hopefully inspire you to play some great golf.
Massive well done to Collette Burgess and Hana Dabrowski who played in their very first Mizuno Pairs competition today, scored amazing as a team! They said they will 100% play in more next season!
Well Done to Paul Powell and Barry Allen who both got a HOLE IN ONE today on separate holes… Paul on the 8th par 3 and Barry on the 14th par 3. Absolutely Amazing
DRINKS INCOMING…!!!
Jack Massey and Dan Churchill won the best dressed award today dressed
