Woodhall Spa (Hotchkin Course) 2026

Woodhall Spa's legendary Hotchkin Course lived up to every bit of its reputation — sun-drenched fairways, those famous bunkers in all their glory, and a winning score that turned heads on one of the toughest tests in English golf.

Course Highlights

The Hotchkin Course is rightly considered one of the finest inland courses in the country, and a day at Woodhall Spa is a real bucket-list moment for any golfer. Immaculate greens, fantastic practice facilities, and a course design that asks proper questions on every hole — there's a reason this place is held in such high regard. And then, of course, there are those bunkers. Massive, deep, and unforgiving — find one and you've got your work cut out. The kind of hazards that focus the mind on every tee shot.

Weather Conditions

Glorious sunshine greeted the field, and it got seriously hot out there. Beautiful conditions on the eye, but the heat made it a proper test of stamina alongside the usual demands of links-style strategy. Staying patient, staying hydrated, and picking your moments to attack the pin all mattered. Hats off to everyone who powered through.

Memorable Moments

The Best Dressed award went to a man channelling his inner Jason Day — a proper effort on the wardrobe front, and a worthy winner of the style stakes. A reminder that on a course as iconic as Woodhall Spa, looking the part is half the battle.

Tournament Highlights

A winning score of 48 points at Woodhall Spa is seriously impressive. The Hotchkin doesn't give away cheap points — every birdie has to be earned, every bogey has to be limited, and the bunkers are always looming. To put up a number that good on a course of this calibre takes real quality from tee to green.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Joseph Gubbins and Calum Reid, who took the top spot with a superb 48 points. A brilliant round on one of the country's most demanding courses, and a thoroughly deserved win.

In the runners-up spot were Gareth Harris and Chris Suffell with 46 points — a fantastic effort and a score that reflects some seriously controlled golf on a course that punishes anything loose.

A truly memorable day at one of English golf's most iconic venues. Thanks to everyone who played, to Woodhall Spa for hosting us so well, and huge congratulations once again to Joseph and Calum on their win. Onto the next one.
