West Hill delivered a stunning day of summer golf, with the course in glorious bloom, a stiff breeze keeping everyone honest, and one player who all but cleaned up on the special competitions.

Course Highlights

West Hill was looking an absolute picture. Stunning greens, immaculate fairways, and flowers in full bloom right across the course — it's hard to imagine a venue looking better. The kind of setting that lifts the whole occasion and makes every shot feel that little bit more enjoyable. A real treat for the field.

Weather Conditions

Amazing sunshine greeted the players, but a stiff breeze made sure no one was getting too comfortable. Beautiful scoring conditions on the surface, but the wind asked plenty of questions on club selection and shot shape. The kind of day where the eyes loved being out there, but the scorecard demanded full concentration.

Memorable Moments

There seemed to be a magnetic pull towards the clubhouse window this time round — plenty of golf balls found their way in that direction throughout the day. No major casualties to report, but a few stories to tell over a drink afterwards. A reminder that even on a beautiful day, West Hill has a way of keeping you honest.

Tournament Highlights

A winning score of 46 points was the headline from the leaderboard, and a brilliant number given the breezy conditions. Anything in the mid-40s on a day like this takes real quality — controlled ball-striking, smart course management, and the patience to grind out points when the wind tried to take them away.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Russel Bunker and Eric Zurrin, who took the top spot with a superb 46 points. A fantastic round in tricky conditions and a thoroughly deserved win.

Just a single point behind in the runners-up spot were John McManus and Matthew Roberts with 45 points — a brilliant effort and a score that would have won most events.

Special mention to Amelia Curtis, who picked up Ladies' Longest Drive and three Nearest the Pins on the day. An absolutely sensational performance with the short irons — and a fair haul of vouchers to show for it. Well played to everyone who claimed a spot on the day.
