Tudor Park 2026

A picturesque Kent parkland course in the heart of the Garden of England, a swirling wind that made club selection a proper puzzle, a Charity Hole raising money for Variety Golf, and a dominant day at the top of the leaderboard from one pair topping three competitions — Tudor Park served up a really memorable day of golf.

Course Highlights

There are few better settings for a round of golf than Kent — aptly known as the Garden of England — and Tudor Park makes the most of its picturesque surroundings. Set in the countryside at Bearsted near Maidstone, Tudor Park combines a challenging championship layout with the comfort and facilities of a Marriott hotel and leisure resort.

The course itself is an 18-hole, par-70 championship layout designed by Donald Steel, created to work with the natural features of an ancestral deer park. At around 6,085 yards from the white tees, it isn't excessively long by modern standards — but it asks plenty of questions, with narrow fairways, mature pine trees, undulating greens, and strategically placed hazards throughout.

The 4th hole is regarded as Tudor Park's signature — an elevated position providing extensive views across the hole and the surrounding countryside. And on our visit, it had added significance as the Charity Hole, with proceeds going to Variety Golf. A really nice touch, and one that gave players another reason to take on the challenge.

Weather Conditions

The day itself was kind to us — the weather remained pleasant throughout. But a swirling wind added an extra dimension to the golf and made club selection and shot-making particularly interesting. Just when you thought you'd judged the wind, it seemed to have other ideas — the kind of day where thoughtful golf was rewarded and any misjudgement was punished.

Memorable Moments

Best Dressed honours went to Richard Thomas — a properly turned-out effort and a worthy nod for bringing the look to match the occasion.

The Charity Hole on the 4th added a lovely dimension to the day. With the swirling wind making its presence felt, it demanded genuine thought before committing to the shot — the sort of hole where the view can tempt you into simply admiring the scenery, but concentration is required if you want to come away with a good score.

Tournament Highlights

A brilliant top-of-the-leaderboard performance today — Peter Robb and David Farrell absolutely running the show, taking 1st WHS, 1st Gross, and the 4 Hole Contest. A properly dominant day and a rare treble.
