Tidworth Garrison - 27th March 2025

If you were at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club today, you were treated to a day of fantastic golf at one of the most scenic and challenging courses around. Set amidst the rolling hills of Salisbury Plain, Tidworth Garrison offers golfers the kind of landscape that’s both beautiful and tricky.

Course Overview: A Test of Skill

Tucked away in the heart of ‘army country’, Tidworth Garrison is not for the faint-hearted. The course plays on rolling downland, meaning flat holes are a rare sight. The challenge of ball placement and strategic shots is paramount getting on the greens is only half the battle. Once there, the undulating, quick greens keep golfers on their toes. It's a true test of skill, where a steady hand and a sharp mind will get you further than a powerful swing.

Weather – From Fog to Sun

The day started off with a little fog hanging around, but by 9am, the skies cleared and the sun came out. While it wasn’t exactly t-shirt weather, the conditions were still perfect for golf a great day to hit the course!

Memorable Moments:

The real highlight of the day came from Jeremy Huntingdon, who nailed it to 1.5ft on the charity hole and walked away with the Nearest the Pin prize. That’s how you make an impact!

But let's not forget the round of the day, which goes to Alan Foster. Not only did Alan play one of his best-ever rounds, but he also shot a fantastic 81—a personal best! What a performance!

Tournament Highlights:

  • Winning Pair: John Millar & Alan Foster49 Points

  • Runner-Up Pair: Indeg Curtis & Jennie Corfield47 Points

A massive congratulations to our Longest Drive winners:

  • Men’s Longest Drive: Lewis Barker (12th Hole)

  • Ladies’ Longest Drive: Fiona Smith (14th Hole)

And of course, a huge shout-out to Jeremy Huntingdon for his spectacular shot on the 2nd Hole to win Nearest the Pin!

Today at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club was a reminder of why we love the game. Stunning views, challenging holes, and some incredible moments made it a memorable day for all involved.
