The Shire 2026

A genuinely iconic golfing feature designed by the late, great Seve Ballesteros, comfortable golfing conditions, and a countback finish at the top of the leaderboard — The Shire served up a really memorable day of Golf Pairs action.

Course Highlights

The Shire is a course with a genuinely special design touch — the famous 'S' pond, elegantly placed between the shared 9th and 18th greens, was designed by the late Seve Ballesteros himself. A properly iconic feature and one of those design flourishes that makes a course stand out. Just being able to say you've played a Seve-designed feature at that quality is a real occasion.

Weather Conditions

Nice golfing weather — comfortable, settled conditions that let the course really shine and gave the field every chance to enjoy their round.

Winners

The top of the leaderboard couldn't have been any closer — two pairs tied on 42 points, with the title decided on countback.

Huge congratulations to Julie Finegan and Fiona Stokes, who took the top spot with a superb 42 points — sealed on countback. A brilliant round and a thoroughly deserved win.

A massive well played to Graham Darling and Mark Bradford in the runners-up spot, matching the winning score of 42 points. A fantastic effort and desperately unlucky to come out on the wrong side of countback.
