Slaley Hall provided a fantastic setting for our golf day — stunning Northumberland scenery and a great mix of challenging holes throughout. The Hunting Course, known as the "Augusta of the North", offered a memorable test, while the Priestman Course showcased spectacular views across the Tyne Valley. A brilliant venue and a proper day out.

Weather Conditions

Cool and mostly cloudy, with a few light showers passing through. Despite the overcast conditions, temperatures stayed comfortable for a full day of golf and provided a great backdrop for enjoying the stunning Northumberland surroundings. The overnight rain also made a real difference to how the course played — more on that below.

Tournament Highlights

The winning pair of Anthony and Craig played some genuinely incredible golf — a stunning 25 points on the front nine, with Anthony scoring on 8 out of 9 holes. Consistency and quality of that level from one player on a course of this calibre is seriously impressive.

The overnight rain made a real difference to scoring conditions. The course was playing long and, combined with playing from the whites, meant the winning gross score of +2 was genuinely brilliant work in the circumstances.

The 2s pot was a lively one too — 8 twos were made out on the course, with each player walking away with £69. Plenty of sharp iron play on show.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Anthony Monaghan and Craig Henderson, who took the top spot with a superb 48 points — anchored by that outstanding 25-point front nine.

In the runners-up spot were Neil Firth and Kevin First with a strong 44 points — a fantastic effort in tough scoring conditions.
