Sherwood 2026
Share
Very hot and dry conditions bringing plenty of extra roll, long hitters running it up to a par-4 green from over 380 yards, a stunning finishing hole, and a near hole-in-one on the Charity Hole — Sherwood Forest served up a really memorable day of golf.
Course Highlights
Sherwood Forest Golf Club offered up a proper test today, with the standout hole undoubtedly being the fantastic par-4 18th. A closing hole with genuine drama, and one that gave every player something to think about right down to the final tee shot.
Weather Conditions
Very hot and dry conditions from start to finish — proper firm-and-fast summer golf, with the fairways running for miles and every well-struck tee shot picking up serious extra yardage. The kind of day where the ball chased forever off the tee.
Memorable Moments
The dry conditions produced one of the standout stories of the day — the long hitters running it up to the 18th green from over 380 yards. Not something you see every day on a par-4, and a proper reflection of just how firm the course was playing.
The Charity Hole also produced a genuinely close call — a tee shot that came within a whisker of a hole in one. So close to glory, but a brilliant moment all the same and one of the talking points of the day.
Tournament Highlights
Firm-and-fast conditions gave players who could keep it in play plenty of chances to attack, and the leaderboard reflected some really strong scoring at the top.
Winners
Huge congratulations to Chris Anderson and Mike Anderson, who took the top spot on the day. A brilliant round in tough conditions and a really nice shared-surname double at the top of the leaderboard.
In the runners-up spot were John Schofield and John Whaler — a fantastic effort and a strong finish on a course that gave nothing away easily.
