Oxfordshire Singles Golf Event – A Day to Remember
Set in the stunning Oxfordshire countryside, The Oxfordshire once again proved to be a fitting venue for our latest Singles Tour event. Designed by Rees Jones, the course is a true championship test, combining modern design with strategic complexity. Generous fairways tempt players to open their shoulders, but well-placed water hazards and bunkers demand precision. The large, undulating greens are a real defence, requiring a sharp short game and confident putting. With a mix of risk-and-reward holes throughout, the layout ensures that every shot matters and momentum can shift quickly.
The day saw some exceptional golf played across all divisions, but one performance stood out above the rest. Long-standing tour supporter Mark Edwards produced a remarkable round, reaching an incredible -4 gross through 15 holes before finishing with a superb -1 (71). It was a brilliant effort and one that set the standard on the day. Matching that impressive score was James Venner, whose consistency earned him top spot in the Gross leaderboard.
