Impressive greens, plenty of bunkers to navigate, a really tight leaderboard with four pairs finishing on 46 points, and Joe Woodward turning in a masterclass on the par-3s — Little Aston delivered a properly competitive day of golf.

Course Highlights

Little Aston served up plenty to enjoy today. Impressive greens, lovely hole layouts, and a course that keeps you honest with its considerable bunkering throughout. The standout moment on the layout for many was the enjoyable 17th — with water all down the left side, it demanded proper commitment off the tee and produced plenty of drama for those playing later in the day.

Weather Conditions

Muggy conditions with the occasional heavy shower rolling through. A tricky day for staying dry between the drops, but nothing bad enough to stop the field putting together some really strong scoring.

Memorable Moments

Joe Woodward had a properly decent day on the par-3s — the only player to record two 2s on his card. Sharp iron play of that quality doesn't come along often, and it made for one of the standout individual performances of the day. He also picked up a Nearest the Pin — clearly dialled in with the short irons.

Tournament Highlights

A really tight leaderboard without any crazy scores. In fact, an extraordinary four pairs finished on 46 points at the top — genuinely close scoring throughout the field, and about as tight a top of the leaderboard as we've seen this season.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Scott Denyer and Tyler Van, who took the top spot with a superb 46 points — sealed on countback from a properly crowded top of the leaderboard.

In the runners-up spot were Zac Ashworth and Patrick Ashworth, matching the winning score of 46 points. A brilliant round, and a lovely double-up too — the pair also went on to claim Best Gross honours.

Best Gross belonged to Zac Ashworth and Patrick Ashworth with a superb 41 points — a fantastic day at the top of both leaderboards.
