Liphook 2026

Liphook 2026

Our first ever Golf Pairs event at Liphook delivered a brilliant day all round — record-breaking heat, lightning-fast greens, a packed 190+ field, and some superb scoring across multiple leaderboards.

Course Highlights

Liphook is a course that fully justified its place on the calendar. Beautiful from first tee to last, and presented in immaculate condition — but the standout feature on the day was the greens. Lightning fast, demanding real touch on every approach and putt, and very much the defining challenge of the round. A proper test, and one that rewarded careful putting all day long.

A special mention also goes to the Club themselves, who set up complimentary bottles of water and squash out on the course — a really thoughtful touch on a brutally hot day, and one that was hugely appreciated by everyone in the field.

Weather Conditions

The hottest June day on record was set just 45 minutes from the course — which gives you a sense of just how warm things were. We've never seen quite so many umbrellas up... except, of course, for about two weeks ago when we had horrendous weather at Brokenhurst. Today's umbrellas were strictly for shade rather than shelter, and a vital piece of kit for keeping the sun off.

Tough conditions to play in, but every player in the field embraced the challenge brilliantly.

Memorable Moments

A brilliant turnout of 190+ golfers on our very first date at Liphook — a fantastic show of support, and a real testament to the Golf Pairs community that so many of you were happy to make the trip in such hot conditions.

On the style front, the Best Dressed honours went to Jonathan Gotts and Tim Denby — a properly turned-out pair who clearly had a brilliant day all round, also finishing as runners-up on the WHS leaderboard.

A brilliant day's golf in really challenging heat. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first ever Liphook event — over 190 of you turned up and made it a day to remember. Thanks also to the team at Liphook Golf Club for hosting us so well, and especially for the complimentary water out on the course — much appreciated. Onto the next one.
