Lingdale 2026
Share
A stunning Leicestershire venue next to Bradgate Park, four seasons of weather in one round, a 2-club wind, a bacon-saving putt caught on camera, and only two groups managing to beat 40 points on a genuinely tough track — Lingdale served up a really memorable day of golf.
Course Highlights
Lingdale Golf Club is a beautiful course in Leicestershire, set right next to Bradgate Park — a genuinely lovely setting and a properly enjoyable venue to spend a day at.
One of the standout moments on the course itself came on the tricky 2nd hole, where Andrew Bacon produced a superb putt to — quite literally — "save his bacon" for par. And in the ultimate bit of good timing, it was caught on camera too. The kind of moment that lives on well beyond the round.
Weather Conditions
Sunny, showery, windy — we had it all today. The wind was a big factor throughout, with a two-club wind on some holes at least, and made club selection genuinely tricky all day. Not the easiest scoring conditions by any stretch, but the field embraced the challenge.
Memorable Moments
Best Dressed honours went to the Rockers, rocking their brilliant elephant golf tops — a proper statement of intent on the outfit front. Sharing the spoils were Richard Hook and Ade Miller, looking super smart in matching attire. Both pairs always dress to impress at our events, so enjoy those Royal & Awesome vouchers!
Tournament Highlights
Just how tough the conditions were is best summed up by the scoring — only two groups managed to beat 40 pointson a genuinely demanding day. The front 9 caught plenty of people out with some blind shots and wicked bounces, and the wind made every club decision matter twice as much.
Also worth flagging that the runners-up spot went to another father-and-son pair — Michael and Will Logsdon — the second family double act in the prizes this week. Great to see.
Winners
Huge congratulations to the first group out — Denzil and Oswraine — who took the top spot with a superb 44 points. A brilliant round in seriously tough conditions and a thoroughly deserved win.
In the runners-up spot were Michael Logsdon and Will Logsdon with a strong 43 points — a fantastic effort just a single point off the pace, and a lovely father-and-son result to boot.
Best Gross honours went to Chris and Tom with a stunning -2 — including 5 birdies on the card. Genuinely brilliant golf in tough conditions.
On the Course
Plenty of action away from the main leaderboard too:
- Men's Longest Drive (15th) — D. Francis (a great shot down a tight fairway that just hung on the right side of the short stuff!)
- Ladies' Longest Drive — Shirley Singh
- Nearest the Pin (16th) — David Cook (not the tightest ever, but good enough for the £50 voucher on the day!)
Well played to all three for stepping up when it mattered.
A brilliant day at a really lovely Leicestershire venue in tough scoring conditions. Thanks to everyone who played, to Lingdale Golf Club for hosting us so well, and huge congratulations once again to Denzil and Oswraine on their win — and to Andrew for a bacon-saving putt we'll be watching back for a while yet. Onto the next one.
