Perfect summer conditions, a beautifully maintained MacKenzie-designed parkland course with stunning Cotswolds views, a scintillating front nine that laid the foundation for the day's winners, and a great turnout from the last group of the day on the style front — Lilley Brook served up a really memorable day of golf.

Lilley Brook Golf Club features a beautifully maintained 18-hole parkland course designed by the legendary Dr. Alister MacKenzie — the same architect behind Augusta National. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Cotswolds, the course combines tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and immaculate undulating greens to provide an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities.

With spectacular views across Cheltenham and the surrounding countryside, it's a course that quietly impresses at every turn and consistently earns its reputation as one of the region's finest.

Weather Conditions

Absolutely perfect. Sunny all day with hardly a breath of wind — couldn't have asked for better conditions for a round of golf. The kind of day where the course got every chance to shine, and the scoring reflected it.

Memorable Moments

Best Dressed honours went to the last group of the day — Mark, Stephen, Dave, and Michael — who dressed to impress and finished the day in style. A properly turned-out group and a worthy nod to close out the field. Enjoy the prize!

Tournament Highlights

The course played very easy due to the dry and firm conditions, which made for a high-scoring Stableford competitionacross the board.

The winning pair of Simon and Ian went off like a rocket — 25 points on the front nine laid the perfect foundation for the day's win. When the front nine is that strong, everything else falls into place.

Best Gross belonged to Ben Morgan and Harvey Watts with a superb +1 — a proper display of low-handicap golf on a MacKenzie design.

The 2s pot was a lively one too — 4 twos recorded across the field, with each player walking away with £96. A nice bonus for some sharp iron play.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Simon Merrick and Ian Williams, who took the top spot with a superb 48 points — anchored by that outstanding 25-point front nine.

In the runners-up spot were Sean Kennedy and Michael Keith with a strong 47 points — a fantastic effort just a single point off the pace, and a score that would have won plenty of other days.

Best Gross honours went to Ben Morgan and Harvey Watts with a really impressive +1 — a genuinely classy round of golf.
