Ingrebourne Links delivered an unforgettable day in Essex — a winning score of 48 points, a hole-in-one, a near-miss tap-in 2 on the very same hole, and a course that delivered links-style golf within touching distance of the capital.

Course Highlights

Ingrebourne Links Golf & Country Club, nestled in Rainham, Essex, offers a distinctive inland links-style experience just 20 minutes from Central London. Designed by renowned architect Alan Walker, the course was crafted to emulate the traditional links feel,  rolling fairways, revetted bunkers, and large undulating greens that ask proper questions from tee to green. A genuinely unique venue that brings a piece of coastal golf inland.

Weather Conditions

A real test of the waterproofs today. Cool and cloudy in the morning, before heavy rain, showers, and breezy conditions rolled in across the afternoon. The rain eased later in the evening, but for most of the day the field were battling the elements as much as the course itself. Hats off to everyone who stuck with it.

Memorable Moments

The 8th hole produced the moments of the day and incredibly, two of them on the same hole.

Wayne Grizzle hit the shot of his life, making a brilliant hole in one for the kind of moment every golfer dreams of. And just to make sure the 8th hole wasn't done writing stories, Matt Ennis stuck his own tee shot to within 2 feet, tapping in for a 2 of his own. The only sting in the tail, Matt hadn't paid into the 2s competition. A reminder to always tick that box on entry day!

Tournament Highlights

The round of the day belonged to Brad Kiddell and Wayne Grizzle, who put up a brilliant 48 points including a stunning 28 on the front 9. Numbers like that on a links-style course in poor weather is seriously impressive scoring.

The lowest gross score of the day went to Lewis Atkinson and Liam O'Mahony, finishing at a superb -3. Two pairs in genuinely top form on a tough day for scoring.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Brad Kiddell and Wayne Grizzle, who took the top spot with a fantastic 48 points. A round powered by that brilliant front nine — and capped off, of course, by Wayne's hole in one. A day Wayne in particular won't be forgetting in a hurry.

In the runners-up spot were Thuy Do and Hung Nguyen with a strong 43 points a great effort in really tough conditions and a thoroughly deserved second place.
