Course Highlights

Great Barr Golf Club offers an enjoyable and challenging 18-hole, par-72 parkland course set in a picturesque location at the foot of Barr Beacon. With tree-lined fairways, well-maintained greens, and a variety of memorable holes — including the water-protected 14th and the challenging 18th — the course provides an engaging test for golfers of all abilities. A really enjoyable venue and a proper day out.

Weather Conditions

Perfect conditions for a golf day. Warm summer temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and light winds — genuinely ideal from tee to green. The kind of day where the course gets every chance to shine and the scoring reflects it.

Tournament Highlights

The winning pair of Matt and Elliott put together some genuinely brilliant golf — an outstanding 55 points. Individually, Matt carded 35 points and Elliott a scintillating 40 points, helped in no small part by a 5-pointer on the 16th. Team golf at its very best.

The 2s pot was a lively one too — 7 twos were made out on the course, with each player walking away with £45. A nice bonus for some sharp iron play.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Matthew Barnsley and Elliott Smith, who took the top spot with a superb 55 points. A brilliant round and a thoroughly deserved win.

In the runners-up spot were Steve Bent and Lee Steadman with a strong 49 points — a fantastic effort in a day of very high scoring.
