Sunny skies and a gentle breeze, one of Yorkshire's most historic inland courses at its best, a near-miss on a demanding par-3 that nearly stole the day, and food and drink in the clubhouse to match — Fulford served up a really enjoyable day of Golf Pairs action.

Course Highlights

Fulford Golf Club is one of Yorkshire's most historic inland courses, set just outside York. Its combination of heathland, woodland, and genuine championship history is the real attraction — a course with proper pedigree in every yard, and one that consistently delivers a memorable round of golf.

Weather Conditions

Sunny with a slight breeze — genuinely lovely conditions from tee to green. Just enough wind to keep things honest without ever making scoring impossible, and the kind of day where the course really shone.

Memorable Moments

The moment of the day belonged to Dave Allison, who produced a properly nerveless tee shot on the notoriously difficult 14th Nearest the Pin hole — coming genuinely close to sealing it in style. A brilliant strike on one of the toughest holes on the course, and enough to see him take the Nearest the Pin prize on the day.

Tournament Highlights

Fantastic course conditions across the board, and even better food and drink served in the clubhouse afterwards. A properly enjoyable venue in every sense.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Russ Coates and Martin Greaves, who took the top spot on the day. A brilliant round on a course of Fulford's calibre and a thoroughly deserved win.

In the runners-up spot were Sam Woodward and Jamie Green — a fantastic effort and a strong finish on a properly demanding course.
