Forest of Arden 2026

Well-manicured tee boxes, tricky greens, curious deer eyeballing the field on the back nine, a stunning approach over water to inches, a 360-yard bomber, and a Mick Doran round that produced a 6-pointer on a single hole — Forest of Arden served up another memorable Golf Pairs day.

Course Highlights

Forest of Arden delivered another cracking day today. The well-manicured tee boxes set the standard from the first hole, the tricky greens kept everyone honest throughout the round, and the stunning views on the back nine made the closing stretch a real pleasure to play.

And of course, as ever at the Forest of Arden, the deer were out in force — casting their usual watchful eye over proceedings on the back 9. Never quite gets old.

Weather Conditions

Sunny with muggy periods, and a few showers rolling through during the round. Just enough rain to make it interesting, but not enough to disrupt the day — genuinely pleasant scoring conditions overall.

Memorable Moments

The individual moment of the day belonged to Mick Doran, an 18.5-handicapper receiving 21 shots on the day. On the par-4 16th, Mick received two shots — and promptly holed out for a 2 (nett zero), meaning he walked off the hole with an incredible 6 Stableford points. A genuinely brilliant piece of golf and one of the most memorable individual moments we've had on the course this season.

Not to be outdone, Matt Harris produced the shot of the day on the par-3 8th — hitting a stunning tee shot over water to just a few inches from the pin. A properly nerveless strike and a well-earned Nearest the Pin.

Tournament Highlights

Great to see so many new faces teeing it up at Forest of Arden — a really warm welcome to everyone joining us for the first time. Add in some excellent scoring across the board and a closely-fought contest in the Gross section, and it was a proper day of competitive golf all round.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Paul White and Owen White, who took the top spot with a superb 45 points — a lovely shared-surname (father-and-son, brothers, or family) result to enjoy together.

In the runners-up spot were Matthew Spencer and Daniel Packer with a strong 44 points — a fantastic effort just a single point off the pace.

Best Gross honours went to father-and-son duo Simon and Alfie Green with a really impressive 38 points — genuinely in remarkable form as a pair, and another brilliant Best Gross result for the family.
