Blazing sunshine, one of the hottest days of the year, immaculate Chiltern Hills scenery, and a beautifully balanced round from the day's winner — Ellesborough served up a really memorable day of Golf Pairs action.

Course Highlights

Set in the stunning Chiltern Hills, Ellesborough Golf Club is one of Buckinghamshire's most scenic golf courses. Established in 1906, the course combines beautiful chalk downland, immaculate greens, and panoramic views with a challenging yet enjoyable layout for golfers of all abilities.

Renowned for its year-round playing conditions and genuinely warm hospitality, Ellesborough offers an unforgettable golfing experience for members and visitors alike — and the field certainly appreciated it today.

Weather Conditions

Clear blue skies all day, and not a breath of wind — but seriously hot from start to finish, and one of the hottest days of the year. The kind of day where staying hydrated and pacing yourself mattered just as much as your golf swing. Hats off to everyone who battled through — the scores on show suggest the field embraced the heat rather brilliantly.

Memorable Moments

Best Dressed honours went to Ady Crook — a properly turned-out effort and a worthy nod for bringing the look to match the sunshine.

Tournament Highlights

Some genuinely great scoring on show today, particularly given the conditions. The standout round belonged to Peter Hewitt, who put together a superb 40 points — brilliantly balanced with an even 20 points on both nines. Consistency of that quality on such a hot day is no small feat, and it was more than enough to seal the overall prize.

The Gross prize went to Louie Pullan, who put together a really respectable +7 — a strong round in tough scoring conditions, and a proper display of controlled golf in the heat.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Peter Hewitt, who took the top spot with a superb 40 points — anchored by that perfectly even front and back nine.

In the runners-up spot was Stephen Sear with a strong 38 points — a fantastic effort in tough conditions and just off the pace at the top of the leaderboard.

Best Gross honours went to Louie Pullan with a solid +7 — a well-earned prize on a day when just keeping the score ticking over was a real achievement.
