Droitwich 2026

Well-manicured tee boxes, tricky greens, stunning back-nine views, and a leaderboard packed with new faces battling for the top spots — Droitwich delivered a really enjoyable day of golf.

Course Highlights

Droitwich offered up a genuinely lovely test today. The well-manicured tee boxes set the standard from the first hole, the tricky greens kept everyone on their toes throughout the round, and the stunning views on the back nine made the closing stretch a real pleasure to play. A course that quietly impresses and asks the right questions at every turn.

Weather Conditions

Sunny throughout, with some muggy periods sneaking in but no rain in sight all day. Really pleasant conditions overall — the kind of day where the course gets a proper chance to shine and the scoring reflects it.

Memorable Moments

The moment of the day — for all the wrong reasons — was the pin position on the 1st hole. It got the better of a genuinely surprising number of players, with four and five-putts witnessed as the field tried to figure out the line. A brutal opening statement from the course, and a reminder that even the shortest putts can bite when the pin's in the wrong spot.

Tournament Highlights

Great to see so many new faces teeing it up with Golf Pairs at Droitwich — a really warm welcome to everyone joining us for the first time. Add in some excellent scoring across the board, and a genuinely closely-fought contest in the Gross section, and it was a proper day of competitive golf all round.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Gavin and John Jenks, who took the top spot with a superb 47 points. A brilliant round and a thoroughly deserved win.

In the runners-up spot were Paul Clements and John Doyle with a strong 46 points — just a single point off the pace and a fantastic effort right at the top of the leaderboard.

Best Gross honours went to Jon Topping and Samuel Alldritt with a really impressive 38 points — a proper display of controlled golf on tricky greens.

• Men's Longest Drive (14th) — Jamie Morrey (a 320-yard bomber!)
• Ladies' Longest Drive — Stephanie Joyce-Summers
• Nearest the Pin (18th) — Jon Topping (a brilliant approach to 4ft 8in)

Jon had a great day all round — Best Gross and Nearest the Pin. Hard to top that.
