Four days of golf on Cornwall's spectacular coastline, an emotional hole-in-one from a golfer playing on his own, a Day 1 cancellation to a coastal fog, stunning Atlantic views on every horizon, and a properly dominant Gross-winning run across the trip — the 2026 Cornwall 4 Days delivered an unforgettable stretch of coastal golf.
The Tour
Few counties in England deliver coastal golf like Cornwall — and this year's four-day trip brought together an outstanding mix of clifftop courses across the Lizard Peninsula and the North Cornish coast. Three completed rounds of proper links-influenced golf, with tough sea breezes, dramatic scenery, and moments that will live long in the memory. Sadly, Day 1 at Cape Cornwall was called off due to a heavy sea fog rolling in — a genuine shame, but the sort of thing that happens when you play golf on this stretch of coast.
Day 1 — Cape Cornwall (Cancelled)
Sadly, our opening day at Cape Cornwall was called off due to a heavy fog that never quite cleared. Frustrating, but part and parcel of coastal golf — and it made everyone all the more grateful for the three properly enjoyable days that followed.
Day 2 — Mullion Golf Club
Course Highlights
Mullion Golf Club is a scenic 18-hole course on the Lizard Peninsula — known for its coastal setting, rolling terrain, and stunning views across the surrounding Cornish landscape. It's also the most southerly course in England — a genuinely lovely fact and one that gave the day a proper sense of occasion.
Weather Conditions
Interesting weather — a stiff sea breeze, some sunny skies, and the odd shower. Whatever it threw at us, though, it was all a proper improvement on yesterday's fog-cancelled event at Cape Cornwall.
Memorable Moments
The moment of the trip belonged to Kenneth Jones, who was playing on his own after his golfing partner was sadly taken into hospital. Kenneth pulled off an amazing HIO on the 11th hole — with just enough spin and wind to help the ball drop in. Genuinely one of the great stories of the season, and a proper reward for someone playing solo through difficult circumstances. Best wishes to Kenneth's playing partner for a swift recovery — and huge congratulations Kenneth on a card you'll be framing for a long, long time.
Best Dressed honours went to a lovely couple — Graeme and Elva Lewis. A properly turned-out pair and a worthy nod.

Runners-Up — Alan Denning & Allan Smith — 43 points
Best Gross — Connor Walters & Matt Aston — level (36 points)
On the Course
- Men's Longest Drive (4th) — Matt Aston (a pro golfer, so a slightly more obvious winner today!)
- Ladies' Longest Drive — Unfortunately no lady hit the fairway today
- Nearest the Pin (8th) — Matt Aston (a dramatic par-3 right by the sea, and also today's Hole in One hole)
Day 3 — Newquay Golf Club
Course Highlights
Newquay Golf Club is a historic 18-hole seaside course in the heart of Newquay — overlooking the famous Fistral Beach and the Atlantic. A scenic, exposed coastal course where the wind, firm ground, and bunkers can make the round considerably more demanding than the yardage suggests.
Weather Conditions
Windy — of course — on the clifftop, but mainly mild and dry. The odd brief shower rolled through, but nothing too disruptive.
Memorable Moments
Alfie Green and Simon Green took Best Dressed honours in blue and green — blending in nicely with the sea and the course.
It also proved the value of paying into the 2s pot — Brian Pinner took the lot today, walking away with £120 in vouchers. Not a bad return for a well-struck iron shot!
Day 3 Prize Winners
Winners — Michael Lee & Phil Page — 45 points
Runners-Up — Alan Denning & Allan Smith — 44 points
Best Gross — Matt Aston & Connor Walters — -2 (38 points)
On the Course
- Men's Longest Drive (5th) — Luke Westcott (a monster drive towards the sea!)
- Ladies' Longest Drive (5th) — Annie Wardle (a lovely shot that split the fairway)
- Nearest the Pin (2nd) — Phil Page (206 off the blues, 199 off the reds — one of the few players even to hit the green!)
Day 4 — Trevose Golf Club
Course Highlights
Trevose Golf and Country Club is a long-established golf and leisure club at Constantine Bay near Padstow, on the North Cornwall coast, overlooking the Atlantic. The Championship Course has hosted significant amateur and professional events — including the Brabazon Trophy, McGregor Trophy, and European Legends Links Championship. What a way to finish a four-day Cornwall event — this place is genuinely stunning.
Weather Conditions
Windy — the third day in a row of proper links conditions — but it stayed dry throughout, which was much appreciated.
Memorable Moments
£37.50 to each of the four golfers who managed a 2 today — well done to all who cashed in.

Runners-Up — Thomas McGowan & Dan Kavanagh
Best Gross — Connor Walters & Matt Aston (three days in a row!)
On the Course
- Men's Longest Drive (5th) — Matt Aston (2 out of 3 for the week — not a bad effort!)
- Ladies' Longest Drive (5th) — Gail Trueman (a lovely straight tee shot)
- Nearest the Pin (3rd) — Jeff Grinnell (a nice inswinger off the sea!)
- Nearest the Pin (8th) — Simon Green (a nice way to end the week)
Overall Three-Day Winners
Three days across three completely different Cornish courses — and consistency was king by the end of the trip.
Huge congratulations to David Holyoak and Ben Redstone on taking the Overall WHS title — capped off with their Day 4 win at Trevose. A brilliant three days of consistent golf on some genuinely testing coastal courses.
A massive well played to Alan Denning and Allan Smith in the runners-up spot — runners-up on both Day 2 and Day 3, and then rewarded with an overall runners-up finish. Genuinely one of the standout consistency stories of the trip.
And Best Overall Gross belonged to Connor Walters and Matt Aston — Best Gross on all three completed days. Simply dominant.

Standout Individual Performances
Connor Walters and Matt Aston were the undisputed Gross kings of the week — Best Gross on all three completed days and Overall Gross winners. A stunning run of low-handicap consistency, and Matt Aston (a pro golfer) also picking up two Men's Longest Drives and a Nearest the Pin along the way. Genuinely dominant golf.
Alan Denning and Allan Smith put together one of the most consistent WHS performances of the trip — runners-up on both Day 2 and Day 3, and then rewarded with 2nd Overall. Proper form.
Brian Pinner had a great week too — pocketing the full £120 2s pot on Day 3, and taking a top-four Overall WHS finish alongside Gail Pinner.
Kenneth Jones's hole-in-one on Day 2 at Mullion — playing alone under difficult personal circumstances — was without question the emotional moment of the trip.
Simon Green picked up a nice double too — Best Dressed on Day 3 (with Alfie) and Nearest the Pin on Day 4.
Special mention to Kevin Keene and Nicholas White as well — Overall Gross runners-up, matching their consistent Gross form we've seen at other tour events this season.
A properly memorable four days on the Cornish coast — even if the fog denied us Cape Cornwall on Day 1. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the trip, to Mullion, Newquay, and Trevose for hosting us so superbly, and huge congratulations to all our winners across the week — from the individual day prizes right through to the overall three-day titles.
Special mention once again to Kenneth for a hole-in-one that will be talked about for a long time — and to Connor and Matt for a properly dominant Gross-winning week. Already looking forward to next year's Cornwall trip.
