Chesterfield 2026
Share
The final stop of a brilliant East Midlands week, some of the best greens in the area, a properly-turned-out Best Dressed pair looking ready for a French holiday, and two pairs of brothers filling out the top two spots on the leaderboard — Chesterfield served up a fitting finale.
Course Highlights
Chesterfield Golf Club was looking absolutely great today. The course was in fantastic shape — with some of the best greens in the area on show — and, as always, the feedback from the field was glowing. A properly enjoyable venue, and a fitting stage on which to wrap up a week of East Midlands golf.
Weather Conditions
Something new for a change — it actually rained this morning for around 5 minutes. The first rain in a very long time, and enough of a novelty to almost feel welcome. It soon cleared for a blustery day with sunshine, and the wind kept things honest without ever making scoring impossible.
Memorable Moments
Best Dressed honours went to Mason Fitzsimons and Harry France, who turned up looking like they were off to France on holiday — bright, colourful, and impossible to miss from a fairway away. Big fans of Royal & Awesome, apparently — so we've no doubt their voucher will be well spent.
Tournament Highlights
The top two spots on the leaderboard produced a lovely little sub-story — two pairs of brothers filling out first and second. Family golf at its best.
Best Gross honours also produced a properly special result — father-and-son duo Alfie and Simon carding another brilliant round to make it two Best Gross wins in a week. Some serious form in the family.
Winners
Huge congratulations to the Rhodes brothers, who took the top spot with a superb 46 points. A brilliant round in blustery conditions and a thoroughly deserved win — great stuff, lads.
In the runners-up spot were another pair of brothers, the Swaffields, with a strong 45 points. Another great score, and just a single point off the top of the leaderboard. Two brotherly pairings at the top of the day — you don't see that every week.
Best Gross honours went to father-and-son Alfie and Simon — a really special back-to-back Gross win within the same week.
On the Course
Plenty of action away from the main leaderboard too:
- Men's Longest Drive (9th) — Fraser Shiels (a proper effort — uphill and into the wind on a par-5!)
- Ladies' Longest Drive — Karen Morgan (a great shot)
- Nearest the Pin (6th) — Lucas Walker (28 inches from the hole!)
Well played to all three for stepping up when it mattered.
A brilliant day of golf and a fitting way to wrap up the final East Midlands event of the week three great courses, some fantastic scoring, and some truly memorable performances from start to finish. Thanks to everyone who joined us across the week, to Chesterfield Golf Club for hosting us so well today, and huge congratulations once again to the Rhodes brothers on the win. Onto the next one.
