Brokenhurst Manor 2026

Brokenhurst Manor delivered a classic English golf day in the heart of the New Forest, a tough start with the weather, a much kinder afternoon, and some truly memorable outfits that earned their place in Golf Pairs folklore.

Course Highlights

Brokenhurst Manor is a real gem. Tucked away in the New Forest with classic design, peaceful countryside views, and immaculate course conditions, it's the kind of venue that quietly impresses from the first tee to the last. A course that rewards thoughtful golf and gives you something to look at on every hole.

Weather Conditions

A real tale of two halves. The morning groups got the rough end of it — chilly and very wet for a June day, the kind of conditions that test patience as much as putting. The afternoon field were considerably luckier, with the weather warming up and brightening as the day progressed. Despite the soggy start, spirits stayed high across the board, with only positive feedback for the course and its conditions throughout.

Memorable Moments

The Best Dressed competition produced some absolute scenes this time around — and not one but two worthy winners.

Jeff West and Russ Woodling turned up in spectacular head-to-toe flamingo displays, a proper commitment to the bit, and a brilliant sight on a New Forest fairway.

Joining them was Andrew Strange, who looked like he'd just walked straight off the set of Out of Africa. A full safari-themed turnout that had to be seen to be believed.

A reminder that on a Golf Pairs day, style points matter just as much as Stableford points.

Winners

Huge congratulations to Jack Somers and Terry Elston, who took the top spot on a tricky day for scoring. A brilliant round in mixed conditions and a thoroughly deserved win — and Jack made it a real double-up, also picking up the Men's Longest Drive on the 16th.

In the runners-up spot were John Calnan and Neil Allen a fantastic effort and a strong finish on a course that gives nothing away easily.
