Course Highlights

Berkhamsted Golf Club is a classic heathland course in Hertfordshire, celebrated for its natural beauty, strategic design, and its most unique feature — a bunker-free layout. Rare among courses of this calibre, it's a design choice that puts the emphasis firmly on shot-making and positioning rather than pure power.

Rolling fairways, heather-lined holes, and the ancient Grim's Dyke weaving through the course all combine to offer a genuinely traditional golfing experience, where accuracy and thoughtful shot-making are rewarded over anything else. The kind of course that makes you think from the first tee to the last, and quietly impresses at every turn.

Weather Conditions

Clear blue skies all day, with a slight breeze rolling in during the afternoon. About as good as it gets — beautiful scoring conditions that let the course really shine, with just enough wind to keep things interesting on the more exposed holes. The field made the most of it.

Memorable Moments

Best Dressed honours went to the pairing of Mick and Min Timoney — a properly turned-out double act and a worthy nod. And a great day for Min all round, who also picked up the Ladies' Longest Drive on the 16th.

Tournament Highlights

A brilliant winning score of 47 points topped the leaderboard — anchored by a stunning front 9 of 25 points. Numbers like that on a heathland course of this quality is seriously impressive scoring. Individually, Chris carded 35 points and John 38 — a properly balanced betterball performance from the winning pair.

The Gross prize belonged to Charlie Armitage and Adam Barker, who put together a fantastic 39 points at -3 — even with a double bogey on the last. Add up the maths and it's clear how well they played from tee to green all day.

Winners

Huge congratulations to John Armstrong and Chris Young, who took the top spot with a superb 47 points. A brilliant round on a course that gives nothing away easily, and a thoroughly deserved win.

In the runners-up spot were Dean Hackett and Steve Morton with a strong 43 points — a fantastic effort right in the mix at the top of a competitive leaderboard.

Best Gross honours went to Charlie Armitage and Adam Barker with 39 points (-3) — a genuinely classy round of golf.
