Ashbourne 2026
Share
A stunning Peak District venue, four seasons of weather in one round, an eagle 2 from a Dutch visitor mid-way through a 25-round UK golf tour, and a father-and-son Best Gross double — Ashbourne served up a truly memorable day.
Course Highlights
Ashbourne Golf Club is a beautiful course set in the Peak District — the gateway to Dovedale and the home of Shrovetide football. Today's field enjoyed this very scenic course, complete with plenty of hills (of course!). A properly enjoyable venue with genuinely lovely surroundings on every hole.
Weather Conditions
Muggy, sunny, showery, windy — we really did have it all today. The kind of day where staying patient between the drops and adjusting your game hole by hole was just as important as your swing. Classic British golf weather at its most varied.
Memorable Moments
The story of the day belonged to Robert and Yvonne from the Netherlands, who joined us before flying home tomorrow — as part of a genuinely incredible 25 rounds of golf in a row across the UK. That's some commitment to the game, and it was brilliant to have them with us for one of their final rounds.
And Robert made sure his UK tour ended on a proper high — bagging a 5-pointer on the 17th with an eagle. What a way to sign off! Congratulations to Robert and Yvonne, who finished on a fantastic 38 points. Safe travels home.
Best Dressed honours went to the ever-colourful group of Dean, James, Steven, and Matthew — a group that always dresses to impress at our events. Enjoy the Royal & Awesome vouchers.
Tournament Highlights
Some brilliant scoring across the board given the mixed weather conditions. A winning score of 45 points topped the leaderboard, with just a single point separating the top two pairs — a genuinely tight finish at the top.
Winners
Huge congratulations to Ian Skarkie and Alan Costello, who took the top spot with a superb 45 points. A brilliant round in changeable conditions and a thoroughly deserved win.
In the runners-up spot were Ashley Wood and Finn Alan with a strong 44 points — a fantastic effort just a single point off the pace.
Best Gross honours went to father-and-son duo Simon and Alfie Green — another Best Gross win for the family and some really impressive golf to boot.
On the Course
Plenty of action away from the main leaderboard too:
- Men's Longest Drive — Oliver Korman (a monster drive on a par-5 that left just a flick in!)
- Ladies' Longest Drive — Stephanie Bristow (in the 1st tee time of the day, and her drive wasn't beaten all day!)
- Nearest the Pin (3rd) — Marc Brookes (a brilliant tee shot to 2.6m on a downhill par-3 with lovely views of the hills behind!)
Well played to all three for stepping up when it mattered.
A brilliant day at a stunning Peak District venue. Thanks to everyone who played, to Ashbourne Golf Club for hosting us so well, and huge congratulations once again to Ian and Alan on their win — and to Robert and Yvonne for making Ashbourne part of their remarkable 25-round UK tour. Safe travels home, and hope to see you back on these shores soon. Onto the next one.
