Scratch Summer Match Play 2023
Join golfers across the United Kingdom in Golf Pairs Scratch Summer Match Play. Win 4 local knockout matches and you’ll join us at your choice of single day events in 2023. No playoffs, no long journeys, simply win 4 matches and you're a winner.
Due to huge demand from lower handicap golfers, we have decided to launch a scratch match play for the first time ever!
Simply enter, and win 4 local pairs knockout matches and you’ll join us at your choice of single day events in 2024. No working out handicap allowances, no playoffs, no long journeys, simply win a maximum of 4 matches in a straight duel against your opponents, and you're a winner!
Match Play is split into local regions and all rounds are drawn with proximity prioritized, this means you'll avoid long distance travel as much as possible.
Once you have entered you’ll be sent a link to register on our portal so make sure you mark golfpairs.com as a safe domain, and as soon as the deadline arrives, you’ll be sent your draw and the competition begins!.

To participate all you need is access to a golf club somewhere in the UK which you can set as your home club.
- Open to all - we accept male female and mixed pairs - as well as juniors 14 and over accompanied by an adult.

Win four knockout matches and you and your partner can join us at any of our UK single day events!
Next year we have 100 events for Match Play winners to choose from. Our events are professionally hosted and offer participants the chance to win some great prizes. We also offer other fantastic prizes for placed pairs including Mizuno merchandise, Stewart golf vouchers, and free pairs at future Golf Pairs events.

This is the first time we have entered the Mizuno pairs, and we loved every minute. We played 3 rounds all against Men and we have to say every pair was so friendly, and very complimentary when we won.
I would encourage more women to enter this enjoyable competition, you will not be disappointed. We have already entered the summer tournament.By Paula Smith & Lucy Sadler

Once Match Play has been purchased for £49.99 your pairs participation is secured. Our Match Play team will then reach out to you via email with a link to login to the Match Play portal towards the end of October. This is where you submit your golfer information, find your opponents, their details and submit results.
-
Better Ball Pairs Matchplay - following CONGU WHS handicapping rules.
Please refer to our WHS Handicapping Guidance document for more information. -
You will be drawn home or away for each round and both teams will be given contact information to arrange the match, although the onus is on the home team to make contact since the home team will be booking the tees. If the home team does not reach out or the deadline is not met, the away team will progress unless evidence of attempted contact is given.
-
Many golf clubs offer courtesy and are happy to do this because their members will mutually benefit when playing away elsewhere, but some clubs will not permit this. If courtesy is not possible then we recommend the visitor fees being split four ways, but if not then the away team will need to pay a visitor fee to the club as per normal golf club policies.
-
All rounds will be drawn based on geographical proximity while avoiding matches between teams from the same club. On the odd occasion, if you're drawn away you may end up a bit further out as you progress through the rounds. We always do our best to keep people as local as possible.
-
The Tournament is open to male and female golfers aged 14 and over on the Commencement. Date who are members of a CONGU affiliated golf club in England, Scotland or Wales, or professionals. Under 18s must play with over 18s. Mixed gender pairs are also welcome.
