Golfpairs will assign you a Golfbreaks agent who will be your port of call for anything related to your booking until you arrive such as transfers, additional nights, rounds or room upgrades.  When you arrive and start to play golf, Golfpairs will take over. 😎

What is the format of your tours?
All our hosted tours are Better Ball Stableford competitions played off 90% handicap as recommended by CONGU. This means each golfer plays their own ball, and the better net Stableford score from the two on each hole counts towards the team’s total.  Each tour will have a specified number of competition rounds and your score each day will be added up to decide the overall leaderboard.

What is the difference between a hosted tour and a non hosted tour?
At a non hosted tour Golfpairs will not be present.  A non hosted tour is Golf and Hotel only rather than our traditional event style.  These are typically smaller tours where we have not been able to secure enough tee times to form a competition.

Currently non hosted tours are East Lothian and Turnberry but any of our tours could be changed to non hosted if numbers are low.  Where a tour is non hosted, competitors will receive an enhanced gift to take the place of the competition, and tee times will still be sent out.  If a tour changes from hosted to non hosted competitors will have the opportunity to withdraw and be given a full refund.

Can mixed pairs participate?
Yes of course, male female and mixed pairs are welcome and we permit juniors 14 and over provided they have formal handicaps and accompanied by an adult.

What prizes are on offer?
Prizes will be awarded to a minimum of the top 3 pairs. Our hosted tours have £2000 worth of prizes on offer for players with an official CONGU handicap, these prizes include Mizuno Merchandise, vouchers for a Stewart Golf Trolley and future MGPT events.  All participants will receive Mizuno goodies or a voucher to spend in the Mizuno store.  We also have a designated Hole in 1 hole where if you achieve the hole in one you’ll receive a full set of clubs custom fit and factory visit courtesy of Mizuno.

Do I need a handicap to participate?
Anyone can participate however you must have an official CONGU handicap to win prizes.

Is there a handicap limited and how are handicaps verified?
There is no handicap limit.  Handicaps of all placed prize winners are verified via the central CDH system.

What happens if there is bad weather and I can’t play my rounds?

Are buggies included in the price?
If your booking includes buggies this will be noted in the product information, generally buggies are not included.  If you wish to enquire about buggies please speak to your designated Golfbreaks agent who will assist you.

Do I need coupons for my trip?
If we send you a coupon please print and take it with you.  Typically no paper work is required apart from your usual government ID when you check into the hotel such as passport - we provide Golfbreaks your details and they book you in.


What is included as a non golfer?
The majority of our non golfer packages include accommodation, full use of leisure facilities and any meals the golfers have.  However, some venues do charge a small fee for use of facilities. Please consult with your Golfbreaks agent should you want to double check.

Do you organize dining and entertainment?
At any hosted tours we have staff present we will set up a tour Whatsapp group or email chain for all that are looking to join the party.  This will involve self funded dinner, drinks and other requests based on the group and the vicinity available.

How can I check the facilities my hotel has available?
Please refer back to the hotel information on the product page for information on hotel facilities or simply search on google for reviews and information.

What time can we check in?
Check-in can vary for each venue. Standard check in time is from 14:00 onwards but can be confirmed with your Golfbreaks agent.  Early check-in and late check-out may be available but this can be subject to a charge.

Can my party book into single rooms?
If this option is available it will be given in the pricing information.  Please note all pricing is based on two people sharing and both of them playing golf unless stated otherwise.

Is it possible to add additional nights?
Yes, please contact your designated Golfbreaks agent who can assist you with this.


Are flights included in my package?
This isn't something we offer right now but it may be something we look at in the future.

Are transfers included in my package?
If transfers are included this will be clearly stated in the product information.  If it’s not stated in the product information do not assume transfers are included.  Typically for UK tours we do not arrange transfers.  For overseas tours, you typically need to get yourself to the hotel and golf transfers will be included.  However this can vary depending on the tour - some have all transfers and some have none - please check the product information.

How do I arrange transfers if they are included?
Once you have booked your flights please then contact your Golfbreaks agent who will gladly assist you with this.  We generally advise car hire as the best value way of getting around - arrange yourself directly via google.

How do we organise car hire?
Car hire is available, please contact your Golfbreaks agent once you have booked, or simply arrange yourself.

What do we need to drive overseas?
Driving documents are dependent on your destination. For full  information please visit


Can I make changes after I've booked?
All changes must be made through the lead booker.  Any changes will be dependent on availability, are subject to and supplier cancelling policies.  There will be no admin fee for making changes to your booking. depending on the nature of your amendment there may be changes to your package price.  Please contact your designated Golfpairs agent for more information.  Typically 8 weeks before full payment is due and deposits are not refundable since they are paid to the destination to hold your place.  This can vary by tour.

What happens if someone drops out?
Non refundable deposits will be held and supplier cancellation fees may apply.

When can I make changes to my booking?
Any amendments can be made up to the travel date.  All amendments are subject to availability and supplier cancellation policies.  Golfbreaks advice would be to make any amendments before your final balance due date to avoid disappointment and or cancellation charges.

What are the cancellation terms?
If you wish to cancel your booking you will need to notify Golf Pairs and we will advise Golfbreaks.  Refunds will be subject to venue cancellation policies, please note deposits are non-refundable.

Can I pay a deposit and if so when is the remaining balance due?
Yes, paying for our tours is flexible. You can either pay the full balance when you book or you can secure the booking with a deposit (normally £100 per person.) Once your booking is secure you can then make smaller payments towards the balance or clear it in one go. The balance must be cleared 8 weeks before the event. If it is not you risk losing any money that had already been paid towards your tour.

Is it possible to get deposits back should I cancel?
Deposits are non refundable.

How do I pay?
When you book into the tour using the form on this page, we will give you a reference code and direct you to Golfbreaks to make payment, either via the online portal or by calling them directly.

When is the final balance due?
Your final balance for your break is required 8 weeks prior to your departure date.

Can a member of the group pay separately?
We prefer all payments to come from the booker which makes administration easier and less scope for mistakes.  However all party members can make an individual payment online, to do this send them the payment link which is found on your confirmation or on your booking summary online.

Can I claim VAT back?
Golfbreaks are a VAT registered company.  However, they like the vast majority of tour operators do not operate on the standard VAT scheme, but instead on the Tour Operators Margin Scheme (TOMS).  Instead of claiming VAT on their purchases and paying VAT on their sales they pay based on different rules, therefore they are unable to provide a VAT receipt.
